ACC EXAM UPDATES:
October 3, 2024 – ICF Credentials and Standards will release a new ACC Exam on November 18, 2024, to support coaches pursuing the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential. As the initial credential in the ICF credential framework, the ACC demonstrates a coach’s fundamental knowledge and skills in the ICF Core Competencies, Code of Ethics, and definition of coaching. The ACC is a smart first step for any coach practitioner to validate their credibility and competence to their clients and peers. The new ICF ACC Exam is designed specifically to assess the knowledge of ACC candidates at this stage in their coaching journey. The 90-minute exam consists of 60 multiple-choice knowledge items and is delivered in two sections with an optional 10-minute break midway through the exam. Beginning November 18, any ACC candidate with an active exam authorization will be able to sit for the new ACC Exam.

ACC Exam Format:
- Total Exam Time: 90 minutes, including a 10-minute break.
- Exam Length: 60 multiple-choice questions.
- Exam Format: Computer-based written exam administered through proctored delivery at Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide, or online through Pearson’s OnVue remote-proctored testing service.
AUGUST 20th, 2024 LOGISTICS UPDATES FROM THE ICF:
- Fewer total items and an expanded, 10-minute break midway through the exam.
- Enhanced presentation of exam items for easier processing and navigation, including on translated forms of the exam where users will see and answer exam items in their preferred language and may opt to use English language aids as a supplement.
- Expanded score reports for candidates who require an exam retake with feedback on performance across each exam domain, empowering candidates with information to guide additional study and preparation.
- Candidates will also have complimentary access to a new ICF Credentialing Exam online tutorial. The tutorial is an interactive simulation of the Pearson VUE testing platform where candidates can practice exam navigation and other features, as well as answer sample questions.
